VISTS Troubleshooting: Enable Hardware Acceleration

Note: This Article is specific to the Virtual Interview Skills Training System (VISTS) Simulation, provided for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
The VISTS software requires active hardware acceleration in your browser settings in order to launch. Generally, this setting is turned on by default, but if the setting has been turned off during troubleshooting efforts unrelated to the VISTS software, you may experience an error message claiming that your browser is "Not Compatible."

In order to allow hardware acceleration in the Chrome browser, please follow the steps below.

1.) Copy and paste the following link into your Chrome navigation bar:
2.) Click on the "Show advanced settings," found at the bottom of the screen

3.) Scroll all the way down and look under the "System" header (second to last) for the dial next to "Use hardware acceleration." Make sure this is flipped "on" (blue).

4.) A link button appear next to the option you selected that allows you to relaunch the browser. Click to Relaunch.

5.) Once the browser restarts, you should be able to load the simulations. If the problem persists after changing this setting, please let me know.
